WHAT HAPPENS TO THE WEDDING ITEMS THAT ARE DONATED
WEDDING DRESSES AND OTHER WEDDING APPARREL
We appreciate the difficult decision you have made to part with your wedding dress, so please be assured that we will lovingly look after it whilst it is in our care. It will be offered to brides who have been approved for the Gift of a Wedding.
The same goes for all other wedding apparel we receive including suits, bridesmaid’s dresses and mother of the bride apparel.
WEDDING DRESSES THAT HAVE BEEN IN OUR CARE FOR SIX MONTHS OR MORE
We consider our charity to be one of the luckiest charities in the UK as we are fortunate enough to be offered wedding dresses on a regularly basis. This means therefore that we cannot keep your wedding dress forever, as we only have a limited amount of space at our premises.
If your wedding dress is not chosen by a Gift of a Wedding bride within the first six months of donation, it will be offered for sale to the general public to raise much needed funds for our weddings. You will be pleased however to know that your dress can still be chosen by a Gift of a Wedding bride.
WHAT OTHER ITEMS ARE DONATED AND WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH THEM
We are also pleased to let you know that hats, shoes, venue dressing items, table centres, silk flowers, tiaras, veils, costume jewellery and handbags are also donated to us.
These items will either be sold or offered for hire from the time of donation.
WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH THE MONEY RAISED
The money raised from the sale or hire of donated items will help us to purchase wedding items such as food and wedding rings. Sadly these items are rarely donated.
*We are only able to accept dresses that are in good condition and they must also be less than five years old.
**We are also unable to provide you with contact details or an image of any bride who is lucky enough to receive your wedding dress.
HOW DO I DONATE MY DRESS OR OTHER WEDDING RELATED ITEMS
If you have a wedding dress, bridesmaid dress, suit, veil or shoes, or anything in between, we'd love to take them off your hands. Please just ensure that the items are no more than five years old and are in good condition.
If they are all you need to do is email us at email@example.com
